The Bad Breath Garlic Co and Gnarly Garlic Dip was established in 2018 by Ryan and Sadie Heather!
We started by renting a commercial kitchen in Tacoma, WA. With a lot of luck we started selling in stores right away! We couldn't believe it! Valley Farms on River Road was the first store to sell Gnarly Garlic Dip. I'll never forget the feeling seeing it on the shelf for the first time. We will never be able to thank them enough, It was just opportunity we needed to get our business started. Our first year we made over 900 deliveries, sold more than 20,000 containers of dip, all while driving over 60,000 miles.
2019 has brought many exciting changes including pre-printed packaging and a co-packer! We are now using a large production facility in Sumner WA, Penny's Salsa and Fresh Produce! We have also been lucky enough to start working with two distributors. Charlies Produce out of Seattle WA. And, DPI Specialty Foods out of Oregon!
We started with our original recipe, Gnarly Garlic Dip, it has just a touch of horseradish and Tabasco. The perfect combination of savory flavors to keep you wanting more! The Dip Garlic lovers have been waiting for!!!
Soon after releasing our first product, we had lots of requests for a spicy version, so we got to work and created Hot & Gnarly Garlic Dip! It has cayenne and red flake pepper to give you the perfect amount of heat and flavor.
Gnarly Garlic Bean Dip was our next Gnarly creation! Our spicy garlic bean dip starts off spicy and leaves you with an amazing garlic after taste!

After many years of dreaming about starting the business, I was finally motivated by the loss of friend/patient. She always loved the dip and wanted us badly to sell it in stores. When she passed away, her husband made sure to let me know meeting me was the best part about her cancer, and i "better sell that dip in stores someday!" I had accidentally brought the dip to work on the wrong day (potluck was Monday, not Friday) and she took it home for a party. Over the years i would make her a batch for special parties and Christmas. With each step this company takes i think of her.... we also owe a special thanks to Troy Smith (Kitchen and Production Help), Max Brent (Distribution), and Joe Haemmerle (Graphic Design).
